Psalm 103 begins with a bold command: "Bless
the Lord, oh my soul." Amazingly, we actually have the
ability to bless and minister to the Lord, not always crying
out and requesting, "Lord, bless me," but giving
out to Him. As we learn to minister to the Lord, we grow less
self-conscious and need-conscious and become more God-conscious.
We develop an awareness of His goodness and presence and do
not become caught up in "my need" but rather caught
up in His glory. As we minister to the Lord, He ministers
to us.
What is ministering to the Lord? Ministering
to the Lord is coming into His presence to worship and praise
Him and to commune with Him in prayer and express from our
innermost being adoration to and for Him alone. (Psalm 100)
When should we minister to the Lord? Hebrews
13:15-16 says "continually." As priests unto the
Lord, we are to continually offer spiritual sacrifices unto
the Lord.
Where should we minister to the Lord? We should minister to
the Lord from deep within our spirits and "With all of
our heart, all of our soul, all of our mind and all of our
strength," Mark 12:30. Focusing on this, there are three
main expressions:
With our Mouth:
singing, praising, shouting, praying, thanksgiving…
With our Hands: clapping, lifting
of hands, waving, instruments…
With our Whole Body: dancing,
bowing, standing, kneeling…
Why should we minister to the Lord? Firstly,
we should minister to the Lord because He commanded us to.
Secondly, we were created to praise God. Thirdly, we should
minister to the Lord because we love Him. Finally, so He might
be blessed and glorified in and through our lives.
As we minister to the Lord, the old song
rings more real and true: "The Praises Go Up and the
Blessings Come Down." I will bless the Lord at all times.
With Him in mind,

We believe
the Bible is the Word of God, supernaturally inspired. It
is inerrant in the original manuscripts and preserved by God
in its verbal, plenary inspiration; and that it is a divinely
authoritative standard for every age and every life.
We believe
the Godhead exists eternally in three persons; Father, Son,
and Holy Spirit and that these three are one God.
We believe
God is the absolute and sole creator of the universe and that
creation was by divine command.
We believe
God, by His sovereign choice and out of love for men, sent
Christ into the world to save sinners.
We believe that
Jesus Christ in the flesh was both God and man. He was born
of a virgin and lived a sinless life. He was crucified, died
as a penalty for our sins, and was raised from the dead on
the third day. Later, He ascended to the Father’s right
hand where He is the head of the church and intercedes for
believers. We believe Jesus Christ is coming again personally,
bodily, and visibly to this earth to set up His millennial
kingdom.
We believe
the Lord Jesus Christ made a perfect atonement for sin, through
his sacrificial death and shed blood, and has redeemed us
from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us. Men
are saved and justified on the simple and single ground of
His shed blood.
We believe
that salvation through Jesus Christ, with its forgiveness
of sins, its impartation of a new nature, and its hope of
eternal life—is entirely apart from good works, baptism,
church membership or man’s effort and is of pure grace.
We believe
that a true believer is eternally secure, that he cannot lose
his salvation, but that sin may interrupt the joy of his fellowship
with God and bring the loving discipline of his heavenly Father.
We believe that
all who receives Christ become joint heirs with Him, and at
death, their spirits and souls depart to be with Christ in
conscious blessedness.
We believe
that at rapture, their bodies will be raised to the likeness
of the body of His glory and dwell forever in His divine presence.
We believe
that it is the goal of every Christian to become a disciple
of Christ by growing toward spiritual maturity through the
knowledge of and obedience to the Word of God and submission
to the Holy Spirit, who indwells, baptizes and seals all believers
at the moment of salvation.
We believe
that every true Christian is to be a dynamic part of a local
church since this is God’s primary context for spiritual
development and community impact.

It is the mission of Del Paso Union Baptist
Church to equip, empower and unite Christians to impact individuals,
families, churches and communities for the rebuilding of lives
from the inside out. When each biblical sphere of life functions
properly, the net result is evangelism, discipleship, and
community impact. As people learn how to govern themselves
under God, they then transform the institutions of family,
church, and government from a biblically based kingdom perspective.
A community of fully devoted believers who
have transformed lives that reflect the values of the Kingdom
of God
To disciple the members of DPUBC so that
they are equipped to impact individuals, families, other churches
and communities from a Kingdom perspective
Discipling the church to impact the world!
The effectual fervent prayer
of a righteous man availeth much.
